Indigenous Participation

Indigenous Participation

Western Desert recognises that for people living in remote areas, mining can unlock opportunities for jobs, training and small businesses to flourish.  For us, that is a heavy responsibility that we take seriously.

We will go out of our way to create an environment where Aboriginal people feel safe, where they are part of a supportive team and where they can develop the work ethic and skills that lead to a better life, wealth and prosperity.

We will expect our contractors to form strategic alliances with local businesses or to employ Aboriginal people.

Our legacy will be to give kids a reason to get an education that leads to a future.
