Rehabilitation of natural scrub
Environmental
Western Desert Resources wants to be a good corporate citizen, so we will work with our neighbours to minimise any disturbance to the land where we operate.
Our environmental policies will include a strong emphasis on rehabilitation, sponsoring land management projects that help Aboriginal rangers work on their own country and environmental offset projects.
- Environmental policy (once available)
- Environmental Impact Assessment documents
Over the past 12 months, Western Desert Resources has undertaken an extensive series of environmental investigations. These studies will continue during the preparation of the EIS and more importantly, will continue throughout the life of the mine.
Some of the environmental studies that are currently taking place include:
- Geotechnical studies
- Flora and fauna investigations, including the identification of any threatened species in the project area
- Surface and ground water studies
- Waste management
- Noise, dust and air quality investigations
- Potential environmental impacts caused by project elements such as processing, tailings and other facilities.
